Amy & Ben were married at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Lincoln then celebrated their reception at the Hi-Mark Golf Course.
Where do I start with this wedding? This couple and their family and friends were a delight to photograph. The wedding was touted as a Cinco de Mayo celebration by the bride for months on her Facebook page but the wedding had a definite Irish undertone as you will see in the photos. The couple met while working at a Hy-Vee Pharmacy - as you will see evidence in the photos as well! There was a playful vibe to the day that was felt from the family, guests and wedding party, but at its heart was the couple Powers, Amy & Ben Powers. At the reception, the couple and their wedding party ventured out to the golf course for a few shots complete with a jumping wedding party photo! The silver punch bowl was one of Ben's family heirlooms as it was engraved with other family member's names that had been married. It made its way to many other family weddings in the past. In lieu of a dollar dance, a hole-in-one contest was conducted - monitored of course by Amy and Ben. Participants paid a dollar to try for a hole in one and if one was made, your name went into a drawing for prizes. The grand prize winners won a massage session with Amy (she is a licensed massage therapist) and a 1-hour physics tutoring session with Ben (he's a high school physics teacher)! I hated to leave their celebration as I was enjoying myself as much as their guests!

Kalea & Jon were married at the Bethel Church in Nebraska City. Nothing could dampen the wedding festivities - not even the threat of severe weather complete with tornadoes. Yes, there was a tornado that touched down only a few miles north of the church during the ceremony - no one was aware :)! Jon and Kalea showed the collected cool of a couple much older than their years - they set the tone for the day. The groom a handsome newly graduated police officer and his bride a gorgeous artistic photographer and stylist. The portraits were shot between downpours outside the church - the couple, their wedding party and family were wonderful to photograph!

Karin and Bjorn celebrated both their wedding and reception at the Lutheran Church of the Master in Omaha, NE. I love when both ceremony and reception take place at the same venue as events flow naturally from one place to the next. The couple, wedding party, family and guests were so wonderful to photograph - it was a pleasure to document Karin & Bjorn's first day as husband and wife!
