rachel & joe - des moines, ia - 10.2.2010

Rachel & Joe were married on a crisp, beautiful October day at Hope Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, IA and they had a sparkler sendoff to their reception that was held at the Iowa Historical Society's Museum (I was having a "Night in the Museum" moment - complete with wooly mammoth!).  I used to work with Rachel - in fact on her first day of work, we went to lunch and naturally, being a wedding photographer, I asked her all about her wedding.   Later, she booked me for her wedding!  It was an honor to photograph Rachel & Joe's wedding - they are madly in love & full of promise - they are perfect for one another!   Please enjoy some images from their wedding - please come back in a fwe weeks to view their complete wedding on the ON-LINE WEDDINGS page of my blog.  Enjoy!

michele & matt - omaha, ne - 9.4.2010

Michele & Matt were married & celebrated their wedding at the Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha. NE.   The weather had finally turned cool & the day was perfect.  I met the lovely bride over a year ago where she was a bridesmaid at a wedding I photographed - what a pleasure it was to photograph Michele's wedding to Matt.  The couple is so wonderful & accomodating - even when I shot their engagement photos earlier in the year - we had to do them in 2 sessions.  The first session was interrupted by a severe thunderstorm - the couple kindly said they could get back together the next week to finish their engagements (btw - the weather was perfect that night!).     Their wedding took place on the lawn inside the gardens - beautiful couple - perfect day!    Please enjoy a few images from Matt & Michele's wedding - please visit the ON-LINE WEDDINGS page of this blog to view all the images from their wedding celebration!!!

wedding vow renewal - Nebraska City, NE - 8.29.2010

As a gift to their parent's, Greg and Linda's kids surprised them with a wedding vow renewal ceremony and 25th anniversary party at the Lied Lodge Conference Center!   The intimate ceremony & brunch took place on a sunny Sunday morning overlooking the hazelnut lawn & Arbor Lodge mansion beyond in the trees.   There was much laughter and a few tears shared amongst those attending.    I was only there for a few hours but was quickly welcomed into the celebration even invited to sit at the table with everyone for their post-ceremony brunch!     Congratulations to Greg & Linda on 25 years of marriage!!!   If you would like to view all the images, please go to the ON-LINE WEDDINGS page of this blog & click on their link!

in memory of noah - 9.1.2010

As a photographer, I rarely think about the possiblity of someone I am to photograph dying.   Well, the unthinkable happened recently, on Sept 1, a young man that was to be married to his dream girl died.  It seems terribly unfair and it's hard to wrap your head around the promise of their life together - gone.  Noah and Angie were to be married on Sept 25 in what I can only imagine would have been quite a celebration of their love.  I had the pleasure of photographing Noah and Angie's engagement session in the place where they were to be married.   In looking at their engagement photos, it was apparent how Noah felt about his bride to be - he could not hide his feelings for her - he adored her.  I know I say this about every wedding I photograph, but I truly mean it when I say it is a privilege to capture images that are evidence of a couple's love for one another.    I don't know how many people come to visit this blog, but if you read this, I ask that you don't ever take for granted the people that are important in your life - tell them you love them, tell them what they mean to you.    It was apparent at Noah's funeral, that many people loved him - he was a son, father, brother, up & coming singing sensation, friend, fiance, and superman.  Noah had spent four days in the hospital before he died and his health insurance had lapsed so the family has established a memorial fund at First National Bank of Omaha - Noah Murray Memorial Fund.  If you feel so inclined - give a little, give alot.  Thank you for reading this blog that normally is filled with smiling faces & joyful moments.  Please take a moment to view some images from Noah & Angie's engagement session.
